STANNIX STUCK !!!!

We are anxiously awaiting our little one however..........we think he/she may be stuck!!! so Mike got a good idea..........

needless to say it didn't work..........................so we took a more dignified approach

Mike tried to be diplomatic but this conversation was one he was not going to win!!!

Little Stannix told Mike that we needed to learn to be more patient and the he/she was stuck!!!
We will let you know when we figure out how to get it unstuck.........

Lots of Love
The Stannix's

Amelia Update!

We looking forward to hearing about the Stannix babe! Can't wait to meet that little person.
At our house we are still drooling over our little lady and still seriously in love!! Just a few pics for you all, we can see changes already.
So Amelia is sporting her little hat which sadly is getting small, hard to believe she's grown so much already. At her two week visit to the Health Unit she weighed in at 7lb 1oz - she's porking up and we are so happy about it!!! I love her look here.
The official 2 week photo! Not very impressed with the photo shoot.

This is an awesome pic capturing how we passed time at the Polischuk's this week. With my mom taking care of us all and with Alyson, Jacey, Leslie and Kingston visiting we had to stay entertained somehow. Note the above pic of Kingston and Tula battling over food crumbs from Grandma.

Amelia's second bath (by her dad)! Her mom was asleep for the first bath at home and didn't get any pictures. She is actually ok with the warm water, she hates being cold though so the transition from clothes to water must be quick.
We are getting into a groove together as a new family of three. We love it!!
Life is good! Lots of Love ~ Amelia, Graham & Jenny

Hello ro Everyone

Things are getting way too quiet again on the blog, so I thought I'd just say Hi to everyone.

Grampa and I are doing fine, just way too busy. We are anxiously awaiting a phone call from Red Deer to give us the big Stannix news. Great Gramma Hudkins always said "When the fruit is ripe it will drop." When it was me that was pregnant and waiting, I didn't really like hearing her say that. Anyway, we're looking forward to our call.

We are praying for rain because it sure is dry around here.

Happy Canada Day everyone.

Love,
Gramma

Gramma's Joke

Gramma sent me this and I thought I would share it.

What is the difference between Bird Flu and Swine Flu?

For bird flu you need tweetment and for swine flu you need oinkment.

Checking in

I guess I should try and start the posting going again. We haven't been on in a week so here we are again. Nancy, Cassidy and I went to see roller derby last night at the Pavillion. It was pretty good, we all had a fun time. We couldn't believe how much strategy is involved, we discussed it throughout the game. I was surprised how much Nancy enjoyed it (even more than the destruction derby), she only goes to that because I want to go, but she did like the roller derby. I think we might try and make it a semi-regular thing.

We have had excellent weather so far this summer, many days in the high 80's and a few in the low 90's, but most in the 78-82 F range. Nancy is doing really well now, and the rest of us are doing fine.

Take care and may God bless you all,
Troy and Nancy

Oh Yeah: (that's kind of like PS)

Happy Fathers Day

I tried to be the first - but Troy & Nancy stayed up until after midnight and beat me!!
What a beautiful and special tribute to your dad. Thank you for that. He has worked hard to deserve it.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY to all the fathers in our family. Those who are already fathers, those who will be fathers and those who wanna be fathers. You are all the best. I am so very proud of each one of you.

I always remember something I heard somewhere, and I don't know where or when but it is that "Anyone can be a FATHER but it takes someone special to be a DAD." I'm here to testify that our family is filled with DADS. If anyone denies that - just tell them to talk to Gramma.

Happy Fathers Day to all the guys.

Love forever,
Gramma

Fathers Day

Life Lessons

You may have thought I didn't see,
Or that I hadn't heard,
Life lessons that you taught to me,
But I got every word.

Perhaps you thought I missed it all,
And that we'd grow apart,
But Dad, I picked up everything,
It's written on my heart.

Without you, Dad, I wouldn't be
The man I am today;
You built a strong foundation
No one can take away.

I've grown up with your values,
And I'm very glad I did;
So here's to you, dear father,
From your forever grateful kid.

By Joanna Fuchs

Happy Fathers Day

Dad, I couldn't have asked for a better father. If we started all over I would tell the Lord that I will gladly go to the same parents again. Thank you for all you have done for me and for all the love and guidance you give. You are the greatest Dad in the whole world. I wish I was there to give you a hug today.

I hope you have a wonderful day, Love Troy

A Poem for My Father In Law

When I married I got a new dad,
A special father in law;
That made me very happy,
And a little bit in awe.

You're a man who cares,
With an understanding heart.
You're also filled with wisdom;
No wonder my spouse is smart!

Thanks for being so cordial;
Thanks for welcoming me;
It feels really good to be part
Of your special family.

By Joanna Fuchs

Thank you for being such a special Father in Law, You have made joining this family wonderful.

Love Nancy

Our wee lady posted in the wee hours!!!

Amelia is wonderful!!
So the wee lady just ate and is crashed again, it is the wee hours of the morning and now my tummy is grumbling so I decided to mulitask - eat and blog a few pics for you guys. Thanks Auntie Alyson for doing the first posts of Amelia.
Our lady a week old doing the bear comparison.
(Also the first day she got dressed up to visit the doc)
Love, love the smile!!

Seriously, how are we ever going to say 'no' with those little peanut eyes staring back at us.

I am fond of this pic taken on Amelia's second day home. The lighting isn't good but Tony is standing guard over her, how great is that?!!

Seriously there aren't really words to describe our love for her, Graham and I are beyond smitten!! I've been thinking that this must be a glimpse of what the celestial kingdom must be like, some serious joy happening at the Polischuk's. We can't imagine our life without her now.

Update: She is a week old and met her pediatrician today. He said she is 'perfect' - of course we already knew that! She is porking back up, babes drop below their birth weight and then gain again so she is on the up at 6lb 4oz from the 6lb 2oz when we left the hospital...I'm trying! On our first outing we stopped to buy a few more nighties (I love them) at the mall and she was an excellent sleeper, already showing more patience then Graham when we checked the Gap for sales, truly a girl after my own heart!!! hehe Life is good! Enjoy the Amelia pics!!!!

Love the wee lady Amelia, Graham & Jenny

Update

Hi everyone!

It's been such a long time since I posted, I forgot how and had to get Brent to help me! I also have to confess, like Garth, that I read the blog (almost daily) but seldom add comments! Writing does not come easy to me!

Brandon & Barb's wedding was beautiful! It was a wonderful time and it was so good to see family & friends! We are getting excited for Jordan & Kristina's wedding...it will be here before we know it! Here's a pic of all of our grandchildren... they're awesome!!!

I go out and watch our garden grow almost every day! It's amazing how much it can grow in a day or two! It has been very smoky here for the last few days as there are many wildfires. Highway 63 was closed for about 1 1/2 days but I believe it is open at this time...but who knows for how long.
I am heading down to Barrhead for the weekend as my dad is not doing well. Brent will be getting off from working 6 night shifts on Saturday morning and has an appointment on Monday so I will be going down solo.
Anyway, that's about all for now. Hope everyone is healthy and happy!
Love,
Brent & Roxanne

Highway 63 had been closed for about a day and a half due to wildfires with the possibility of 881 closing as well.

Can't wait!

Hey everyone! It's so great to see so many new posts! I thought I would follow the crowd and put one up from the Stannix's. We are getting very anxious to meet our little person now with only a few weeks to go! All that's left to do is wait! The summer seems to be going by really quickly. We have found a place to live in Edmonton and will be moving up in August. We are really excited for all the things that are happening this summer. We hope that everyone is doing well!
Keep posting!
Love,
Addie&Mike

from the Rockies

Congratulations Graham and Jenny! You have certainly been blessed!! I am having a hard time keeping up with all the happenings within the Hudkins clan. It is exciting though. I must confess gramma, I am one of the ones who visits the blog but does not always comment. I can't imagine all of you who are able to keep track of the blog and keep up to date on face books too.

Barb and Brandon, sorry we could not make it to the wedding. Our Children said it was a wonderful wedding and reception. Congrats to you both, we are very happy for you. Welcome to the family Barb and children!

The end of the school season is upon us and I can tell that Arland and Emma have had enough of school. We had recently attended Emma and Arlands year end band concerts. Boy are the band kids ever talented, they sounded great! We are very fortunate in Rocky to have a husband and wife band teacher team who do an absolutely wonderful job with the band programs.

We have finally had some summer type weather. The garden is growing, but the fruit trees and raspberries are slow in blooming. It has been nice to be able to work out in the yard and garden.

We are anticipating the new arrival in the Stannix family, and the joy of being first time grandparents. Addie is looking healthy and has stayed physically active during the pregnancy, I was watching her in amazement the other day as she ran up the walk of her house to retrieve something within the house. I am not sure a woman in her condition should be running like that! Addie is looking good and Mike4 is looking tired. He works very hard each day but seems to like it.

Well that's all for now. I will probably visit the blog about fifty times and then probably write again.

Love you all,
Garth and Family

Saying Hello

Hi Everyone,
Have you noticed the counter on the right side of the blog? In the past 48 hours about 100 people have looked at the blog but only one has made a comment. What's with this picture?

It has been an exciting week with the new baby. Jenny is getting so much company that she isn't getting the rest she needs. Hopefully people will begin to back off a little.

Grampa and I are way too busy. Last time he phoned, he was still #30 on the waiting list. Over the past month they had not received any cornea donors. The girl said that it doesn't happen very often, but occasionally it does.

Grampa's job at the office is busier than anyone else's. He's doing good work. Catching up on a lot of paperwork and getting a good handle on things. Last week he sold one car and detailed two others. He is putting in long hours. Way more than a 74 year old guy should. I'm trying to help but seem to be falling short. Hopefully, if I just keep the food cooked, laundry clean and the house in order that will help him somewhat.

I think we finally have summer. Today it got up to 28C and I understand it was up to 30 in McMurray. We sure need rain. Everything is very very dry. The farmers are suffering.

Our next big event is Addie & Mike's little one, the Hahn reunion at Chris & Terry's, then Jordan & Kristina's wedding and then Pat & Heather's. Whew! a busy summer!!

Love to all,
Gramma

Announcing Amelia Ann Polischuk!!!

Baby Amelia just chillaxin on the bed by her mom!
Mommy and Amelia just loving and cuddling
Jenny thumb upping how excited she is about her person!

Not too impressed about all the picture taking, but too bad!!

The Happy Family for the first time, she is well loved!!!

Alright, alright, hold your horses!! Here she is: Amelia Ann Polischuk, born 11:59am on June 10/09. Weighed 6.9 pounds and was 20 inches long, with her dark hair, and bum chin. (Mom and grandma would say her dimple chin, but I prefer bum) We are happy she is here and both mom and baby are doing fantastic!!!

TBA has arrived!

Not to steal Jenny and Graham's thunder, but in response to the miriad of phone calls, I just want to let everyone know that the blessed event has occurred! At 11:59 this morning Jenny was delivered by c-section of a little dark-haired girl who weighed in at 6lbs. 9oz. and is 20 inches long. (She is exactly one ounce more than her mom was.) We think she is pretty perfect, but you will have to wait for someone who is a little more computer savvy than me to post pictures (Al?) as Jenny and Graham are still at the hospital. Thanx to all for your prayers!
Auntie (Gramma) Charlene

"Down for the Count!!!"

This is my first attempt to actually post on the blog (don't ask me to do pictures yet) as I'm a greenie still and have just figured out the comment thing! But I am down in Edmonton waiting for Jenny and Graham's baby to make an appearance. Just wanted to say how much I enjoy reading the blog and looking at the pictures even if I don't really do my part, so keep up the good work all you computer techies!

TBA update!!

37 Weeks - Countdown is on!!!

Addie 34 Weeks & Jenny 36 Weeks
(It kinda looks like I ate a watermelon!)

So for Auntie Nancy an updated pic of the belly, with a Stannix belly thrown in! We can't wait to know what they are having. The belly to belly shot was from Barb and Brandon's wedding and then the solo shot was from last week....I've grown more since then if you can believe it.

In recent news our c-section has been bumped a day later - ahhhh it feels like a week but they said that was a possibility because we're not labeled 'emergency'. So our lady should now be coming Wednesday June 10th, same time, same place. Unless of course she chooses to make an appearance early on her own accord! I totally walk funny and feel like someone punched me right down there (sorry for the graphic detail), this apparently means she is preparing to come, so stay tuned Alyson said she will post things for us. We are putting in the carseat today and really are just trying to patiently wait for our lady! Take care fam!

Half Century

Well Sis,

Happy 50th Birthday, I hope you have a wonderful day. What better present to have than a new grand-daughter. I bet you are excited. Let me know what I have to look forward to on my 50th birthday. Nancy had the kids convinced for years that I was 50 and she was 21.

Anyway, Happy Birthday and remember we love you lots and miss you all.

TBA's room

Here are a few pictures of our little lady's nursery!! We can hardly wait, one week left! Graham and I were talking yesterday about how it was our last Tuesday without her and then she will be with us F-O-R-E-V-E-R!! ( I always think of the movie The Sandlot when the boy says 'forever' in slowmotion) We are so excited to be a family of three!!

Graham painted an old wooden ladder we had, thus using it now to display quilts (frankly I thought it was unsafe to use so we recycled it). I fell in love with the pom pom puffs and had to find a place for them in the nursery!!!

The placement of goodies are still in progress, I found the dolls and bunny at an estate sale. I think they are eclectic, however, most of my family find them creepy!
This piece of art says: I wish Happiness for you!. A little present that we found in San Fransisco

This mural Graham's sister Jen painted. I cried when I saw the bedding and Alyson told me to just buy it then!

Jen worked alot of hours on this Cherry Blossom tree. I think it completes the room perfectly.

Mackenzy Award

Mackenzy receives an award. She received this one in Grade 4 as well for an essay she wrote on What Freedom Means to Me. Mackenzy was awarded the Citizenship Award. Here is her picture of her accepting it.
Also Uncle Troy and I went on a date on Friday Night, it was a date of looking for things we love about Summer. Uncle took me around driving so I could take pictures of all my favorite things I love about summer. We then got Teriyaki and ate it by the water watching the boats. Which is another of my favorite things I like to do in the summer. Thought I would share some of the pictures of my favorite things in summer.
Love Auntie Nancy & Uncle Troy

we did it

thought we share were very happy about this hahha!
48 days to go!!
