Baby Bump

Hey Family,
Here's a little update on the second Stannix babe.  I am 27 weeks and counting.  This kid is growing, growing, growing. We are getting very excited! Everything is going good and there has been lots of movement in my belly which is nice! He/She always likes to try to stick it's elbow out my belly button. We're gearing up for a move at the end of February to a place with a bit more storage.  It's a little house all to ourselves and we are glad to finally be getting above ground.  I'm looking forward to the extra light from our new living room window! Hope everyone is well!

We Are Officially Here

Well - we can now say that we are officially in our new place.  Today our name appeared at the front door and we can let people into the building.

We have our cable, phone and internet.  We actually had the internet for a few hours on Thursday but then our computer died.  Thanks to Jon and Alyson who came with us, with great advice we got a new one and are now up and away. As of today -  It feels good.  Now I just have to get used to the new keyboard.  Funny how each keyboard is just a little bit different.

We love our new place.  It feels like a palace to us and everytime we go to the underground to get into a nice warm car I feel like a queen.  We invite you all to come and see it. Please call first to make sure we're home.

Oh yes - since the old computer literally died, I don't have anyone's e-mail address.  Please send me e-mails so I can put you into my address book.

Thank you for all your help - We sure do love you all.

1960's in Fort McMurray

Fort McMurray Airport.

The Haxton Store on the far Left?

Down the alley from our house in the valley? (the house we lived in across from BP's) I used to deliver the papers in that area. Or it could be the trailer court accross from the old theater??? Or is it Waterways?Does anybody know?

The grey build ing was the Fort McMurray Hotel. On the Left is what we knew as the Oil Can.

Hills Drugstore. He built his knew building beside the hotel (where Kings Fitness is now). The old hill drug building was removed and made into a parking lot and then to the right a building with Total Energy office (and I think a lawyers office) and then the A&W is on the corner.

I believe you see the Snye (may not have been dyked from the Athabasca) and MacDonald Island in the background

Albian Village

Well, I am half way through my second turnaround at the village. It is going a lot faster this time, I brought my laptop and I get to video chat with my family every evening. It sure makes things easier than just talking on the phone. I even saw Cal and Shauna a couple nights ago, they were at the house.

Nancy sent a pedometer with me and I finally got it set up 2 nights ago. Yesterday I walked 7.3 miles and today I walked 9.3 miles. I think they should get us little scooters, but Nancy is against that.

Hope everyone is doing well. Love you all,

Troy

This is Kouper's first real food. This week we started him on carrots, and he really enjoyed them. we just wanted to share a few photos.
First bite, not too sure.

Always wanting to help, doesn't always make for an easy meal, but he is hilarious.

After a good meal he is ready for a nap.

We hope all is well with everyone. Love lots, Cassidy, Jeanine and Baby Kouper

Little TBA II.....lady or fella????

The cake...

the Family...

the Boy vote...

the Girl vote...

ohhh the anticipation...

It's a GIRL!!!!!!!!! Woot, woot a little sister for Amelia!!

We had a little party in honour of the new person set to join our family in June, to find out lady or fella.  We wanted to make it interesting and fun, so took some guesses and put far away family on speaker phone then....cut the cake.  Graham and I had planned to get the gender put in an envelope that we would deliver to my cake making friend but the tech legally couldn't do that soooo we found out on Tuesday and everyone else found out today!  It was tough secret to keep for 24 hours, well we actually broke down and whispered our news in Amelia's ear.  She can't say 'sister' yet so we were safe! She'll point to my tummy and say 'baby' gently rubbing the bump. It was a fun evening and we are sooooo thrilled to have another little woman around.  Sisters ROCK!

As we were driving home Graham asked if this was my dream, "uh ya!!!"  Of course either way we would have been pumped.  Amelia sees hockey on TV and says 'hockey', sees her Daddy's memorabilia and says "hockey" so don't feel bad for a second that Graham is the only fella...I don't hear 'shopping' coming out of our woman's mouth yet and trust me I'm working on it!

Life is good, much to be thankful for!

Hello everyone!

I hope this new year brings you all good health and happiness!

The last year has been a very tough one!  Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and support!  But along with all of the sadness, there were also wonderful blessings.  The birth of our new grandson, Mason.  Who, by the way, is incredibly beautiful and perfect!  And also, my nephew Jeremy who survived a head on car crash in September.  It's a miracle that he survived.

On another note, as you know Grandma & Grandpa are moving this Saturday.  The condo came furnished and there are items there that they don't need or want.  The following are there for the taking:  wall hangings, dishes, artificial plants, and other odds/ends.  If you are interested in any of these items, please give them a call and make arrangments for pick up...the sooner, the better!

We also have a pine coffee table and a couch, with built in recliners, to give away.  If you're interested, give us a call.  We can bring it down on our next trip to Edmonton.

I truly appreciate all the updates and pics of the families...please keep them coming!

Love,
Roxanne

Homemade Bagels

Sorry this took me so long to post Gramma! Hope you guys enjoy, let me know if you have any questions.  Super similar to bread making...

BAGELS

1  1/2 Cups Warm Water
2 TBSP Yeast
3 TBSP Sugar
1 TBSP Salt

Mix and let stand until yeast froths up

Add
4  1/2 cups (approx) Flour

Stir, and knead it in.  Try to get the dough to take as much flour as you can! It needs to be very elastic and almost difficult to knead.
When it is formed into a ball, let it rise on the counter with the dish or a towel on top until it doubles in bulk.
Stretch it out into a snake like shape and divide into 12
Work the 12 pieces into bun like shapes and let rise on the counter.
Make a hole, separate, let rise again.
(I like to use a sharp knife and poke through the middle of the bun and then use my fingers to stretch it out into a doughnut shape.
After they have risen, boil in water for 45 seconds on each side and place on well greased cookie sheet.
You can top them with grated cheese, tomato paste, sesame seeds, onions etc. Be creative.
Bake at 350  for 20 minutes

Camilla Goes to Nursery

Well, we are finally kid free (for the next four months anyways).  Yesterday Camilla went to nursery for her first time.  Her and I walked down the hallway together after sacrament and into the classroom.  She watched the kids for a while with a funny stare on her face.  She was kind of unsure of it, but she knew there was toys there!! I watched her for a while, not wanting to leave.  Finally I snuck out and went to classes.  The whole time I worried about her, but she was totally fine until the very end!! She cried at clean up time because she wanted to keep playing.  After dinner we were all in the livingroom and she started singing to herself with her arms out, and dancing, spinning and doing bum drops.  Grampa finally clued in and started singing "Ring around the Rosy".  Her face lit up and she continued dancing.  She was telling us what she learned in nursery! She must have had a blast!

Hope everyone had a fabulous New Years!

Love,
Addie, Mike, Camilla and #2

P.S
Dad whipped out his accordion the other night.  You'll have to ask for pictures ;)

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE

Well, here we are - the new year!
We wish you all the Lord's richest blessings in 2011.  No doubt we will all have some challenges and concerns this year, but if we keep our perspective, look to the Lord for guidance, and stick together as a family, we can get through anything.

We have been packing, packing and packing.  Our apartment looks like a warehouse with boxes stacked all around.  We are looking forward to our move into the beautiful new condo and are getting quite excited.  You will all need to come and do an inspection when we are settled.  Our deck is fabulous!

We will be so glad when the physical part of moving is over.  Grampa came home with more boxes the other night and said "remind me - NEVER to move again."  Somehow, I don't think I'll have to do that.

We look forward to having all the strong men come at 10:00 on the 15th.  Thanks for your help.

Love you all lots and Happy New Year.
Keep facing the sunshine
