Here are some things I gleaned from today's conference sessions.
* For both debt and addictions, talk to the Lord
* Be obedient to the promptings of the Holy Ghost
* Live within your means - spend less than you earn
* Learn to say "Can we afford it, or can we afford it but don't really need it?
* Establish a family budget
* Be acquainted with the voice of the Holy Ghost. Pay attention to thoughts & feelings.
* In times of distress let your covenants be paramount.
* Succor each other
* Be willing to listen and learn from counsel of those who have gone before you
* Learning lessons from the past helps you to walk boldly
* Remember the past so you don't repeat it
* When we desire more faith we must be more obedient
* Personal righteousness is a choice
* If we really care for others we should pray for them
* We should pray "Thy will be done"
I have lots more, but the above is a pretty good sermon for now.
Speaking of succoring others. I would very much appreciate all your prayers. My left eye - the one with macular degeneration is really acting up today. For a few minutes, I thought I would lose the sight in it. I had Grampa immediately give me a blessing. I have an appointment early Monday AM with the retinal specialist. Hopefully they will do their magic that will stop the progression of the degeneration. Apparently they can do something that cautorizes the blood vessels. I'm not sure how they do it, but I can tell that it is not a bit too soon.
What they do doesn't improve the vision, but should keep it from getting worse.
Thanks for your help,
Gramma

Mom;
What do you mean acting up? Does it get fuzzy or hurt or what? I'm glad you are going to the doctor's. We are all praying for you here, too!
Lots of Love,
Charlene
I was getting plates out of the cupboard when everything in front of the left eye went black. It lasted for about 5 min. The Dr. didn't know why that would happen.
However, good news - The macular is still dry. He said it wasn't leaking but if I notice a change in vision to call right away and they'd see me.
He says that what I am doing now is all the right things to keep it at bay. It's good to know we're on the right track anyway.
Mom
