Grampa's Head

I've been chuckling all week:

Last Monday Kingston spent the day with us.  He was busy messing around  with Grampa when he suddenly asked  "Grampa can I kiss your head?"

I guess he looked at that cute bald head (not being used to seeing a bald head) and wondered just how it would feel to kiss it.  Way too cute.

I asked Grampa if I could share this precious memory and he agreed (well - he didn't disagree!!)  We enjoyed getting to know Kingston and his cute personality better.

Love,

St. Patrick's Party

LtoR: Amelia, Jaxon, Kouper, Kingston, Joseph, Hyrum, Stella, Jacey, Camila

Some serious fun occurred last week when a few of us got together to have a St. Patty's Party!!  It was such a good time!  A big thanks to Jeanine, Kouper and Jaxon for hosting.  The littles actually played pretty well together.  Of course there were some squabbles over 'hot' toys but there were nine of them under five....they actually played super well together.

We had a green themed potluck lunch!

We made green shamrock necklaces!

We tossed gold coins in a big sauce pan!  (you know POT-OF-GOLD style)

We just goofed around and played together!!

It was a wonderful time!  Always worth the effort to make it happen.  Thanks to all who came.  Out of towners, we wish you lived closer!  Hugs

Kindness Begins With Me

Don't tell Grampa, but I'm going to share this:
A few days ago we went to Costco.  It was very windy and quite cold.  Slightly snowing.  Grampa grabbed a cart because "sometimes they are low on carts".

As we went through the door I showed the lady my card.  Turned around just in time to see Grampa handing off his cart to a man carrying a little one with another toddler in tow.  All I saw was the surprised look on the young dad's face and his mouth saying "thank you,"

I said to the lady at the door. "I'll just wait here for my husband."
"Oh" she said, "Is that he the one who gave his cart away?"  I replied "Yes".
"That was so kind!" she said

She had witnessed the whole quick interaction.  Very proudly this time, I said  "Yes, he's a very kind man!"

And he is.

Love to all,
Gramma

motherhood

Thank you Charlene for sharing the last video you posted. And we all celebrate your great efforts to embrace this new technology! I think all us oldies struggle with this in one way or another. Yes even Brent has to learn it (he just wont admit it). That would be admitting you are getting old, right Brent?

I think the new teaching program in the Church is just great! I have had the opportunity to teach with it and it brings the spirit closer as you teach. I think this will be a huge benefit for the youth of our church!

I know it isn't Mothers Day but I wanted to share this wonderful mormon ad from Jeffrey R. Holland. I love listening to him speak and could listen to him all day! This is to all the young Moms in our extended Family....know that we love you and support the work you are doing in your homes, raising and teaching your families!

I would just like to take this moment to let my Mom know how greatful I am for the responsibility she took in raiseing myself, my brothers and my sister... thanks Mom! I would also like to thank my wife for all the work and the great example she has been in raising our Family!

Enjoy the video!!
