VERY SAD NEWS

Tonight our hearts go out to Barb, Brandon, Tyeesha, Jakeem, Aundre, Marcus and David.  We just learned that Barb's mother passed away a few days ago.

Barb, I only met your mom at your wedding, but I felt her special spirit.  I enjoyed working with her in the kitchen.  She had boundless energy and worked hard to give you a really nice wedding day.  She was a special lady who raised a very special daughter and grandchildren. We love you all and wish we could shoulder some of the sorrow for you, but some things we just have to go through on our own.

It is alright to cry and it is alright to laugh as you talk about all the funny things that happened and the fun times you had with your mother.  It is all part of the healing process.

We pray that your happy memories will be a healing influence at this very difficult time.

Love you very much,
Gramma & Grampa Hudkins

Fall Chocolate Making Anyone??!!!

Do you all remember these pictures?

Do you want to learn?

Do you want to take some home?

We all know Grandma has skills but did you know that our dear Grandma has mad chocolate making skills?  I was unaware until 2 years ago.  Christmas is fast approaching, the weather outside makes me think we can expect snow anyday, BUT the joy of snow means Christmas is coming.  So I wanted to set a date for chocolate making.  Grandma will direct and those who want to participate will do!  So Saturday November 13th at my house in Fort Saskatchewan.  If you are interested please let me know so I can figure out who and what supplies we'll need.  I'm unsure of the what the cost will be, I frankly don't remember from before.

So if you are interested and that weekend works please let me know!

Love Jenny

A "Maybe"

We said "May Baby" and came up with the witty title ;) We wanted to officially let everyone know that we are expecting.  I had an ultrasound today and all seems well.  The due date is May 2nd ish.  I'm only a few months along.  We are very excited for #2 and can't wait to meet our little "Maybe". We'll try to keep this updated, but I will soon be adding updates HERE

Cause to celebrate with some bubbly (sparkling juice!)

Be Prepared

While we were on our trip, my attention was drawn to some of the road signs.  They warned us of goat/deer/moose crossings, speed limit signs, how fast we should take the winding mountain corners, and  when to yield to traffic.  One in particular stood out to me...
That's definitely a sign you don't see where I'm from!! As we were driving home (well after midnight) I began thinking about the "road" signs that we are provided with in the gospel and all the warnings we've received in the scriptures.  These signs help us be safe and live a happy life.  We have been given "speed limit" signs and things that, if we do them, we will stay safe and have a good life.  I don't know that I'm really getting my thoughts across, but anyway.  It's something I've been thinking about lately, being prepared physically, spiritually, emotionally etc.

Today in Relief Society, we had an awesome lesson on being prepared for emergencies and assembling our 72 hour kits.  A lot of great ideas and advice was given and I am now fully motivated to prepare our family in this area.  I'm looking forward to the next few family home evenings where we will sit down and make out an emergency action plan and work towards putting together our emergency kits.  I just feel that it's important, and that it's one more way we are obeying the road signs and listening to the counsel of church leaders.  I know that as I heed the road signs in my life, I will be happy.  Life is good.

Congrats to the new mommy and daddy! Kouper is sure a cutie pie!!

Love,

Kouper Troy Eugene Hudkins

Well we have a very tiny man. I had to be induced immediately on Tuesday for high blood pressure and other complication. Kouper (pronounced Cooper) is doing great, we could not be happier. He was 4lb 12oz and 4lb 8oz when we left the hospital and 16 inches long. Our only worry is his blood sugar since he is so small, but formula is helping that. I am still not able to do much since my blood pressure is still extremely high, but my baby is healthy and all that matters.

Since he is a preemie we have been told not to take him out for a month and to have very few visitors, and of course no one that is sick. But we would love to show him off.

Cass is the happiest man on earth and has been a huge help while I've been sick. I could not have asked for a better father to my children.

Anyway, here are some pictures.

Love you all,
Jeanine

Congratulations

Congratulations on the birth of your son Cassidy and Janene. And welcome to to Grampa/Gramma hood Troy and Nancy. I understand that you got yourself the no-name brand..... thats what happens when you go to the grocery store for your choice of kids. I don't think he will cost any less to raise though. HAHA!

Nancy, I was talking to Dawn Kidd yesterday and then heard the same story on the news. A procedure for helping people with MS called the LIBERATION TREATMENT has helped alot of people. Check out CTV News. Dawn says it is available in Saskatchewan (not yet in Alberta) but isn't covered by Health care. The news story says they do it in Costa Rica. Good excuse for a vacation, yes?
